Have anyone got a professional job through out seek.com.au ?
Main Post:
I have been trying to apply though out this website for the last 3 months , but I haven’t got anything yet .
Top Comment: For IT crew, Seek is a great place to search. Also, don't underestimate LinkedIn. More and more companies are posting there, too. Similar types of search filters can be set. For entry level roles it is a numbers game, Chin up and keep going. Have you had your resume reviewed by someone in the know? As a hiring manager, I want the first page of a resume to provide a short, succinct blurb. Who you are. What you do. A snap shot of applicant skill including recent role (Company, role title, dates)... Assuming you have relevant experience, that is! Yes, it is already in your resume... But recruiters and managers are lazy. Make it easy for them and spell it out. Make us want to read further. Also, a follow up phone call cannot hurt. No contact details for the job? Call the switchboard and ask for HR/recruitment. The worst they can say is no. Good luck :)
Should I apply for EVERY job on Seek?
Main Post:
I am very desperate for more income and have been thinking of going nuclear and launching a script to do as the title states.
My current reasoning is it would be a benefit but not by much. Just wondering is others think the same or does it have the potential to blow up in my face?
Background: I have a script that can automatically apply for all jobs listing on Seek, matching whatever search criteria I choose. I use this script for stereotypical low skilled work, mostly dominated by recruiters/labour hire, who now seem more interested in selling government training I am not eligible for.
I am financially at the lowest point in my life, with only a few dollars to my name after using all my savings. The financial pressure has destroyed my marriage and if I don't get some income(>$500 pw) soon it is almost certain my wife will leave with the kids and thus I would be homeless for a while I saved for a bond.
Top Comment: Terrible idea spamming job applications. Better to do a targeted cover letter explaining exactly why you are the correct person for the job by addressing all the requirements set out in the job ad. Initially its a major pain in the ass but after you have applied for a dozen or more similar jobs you will be able to cut and paste for the most part in future.
Seek - App that helps you identify species using iNaturalist observations
Main Post: Seek - App that helps you identify species using iNaturalist observations
Top Comment:
I've started using iNaturalist myself recently, and their species recognition is pretty damn good and it looks like this new app by the same people uses that database and image recognition software to help people identify plants and animals in their area. Plus with iNaturalist, any observations that you submit help map out where species are to help out scientists and researchers. I'm gonna stick with iNaturalist personally to try to help out the scientific community rather than switch to this new one, but for people who just want a species identification app this looks like it'll be a good option.
The article also links just to the Apple App Store, but Seek (and iNaturalist) also exist on Google Play too.
Is it actually possible to get jobs through Seek or Indeed or other employment websites?
Main Post:
Ive been on seek and indeed for 2 month and been applying for dozens of jobs but all of the applications gets closed before i ever get rejected. Do i have to go out and walk into stores asking for open positions or get in with some recruitment agencies?
Top Comment: I actually add the job skills/description to the bottom of my resume and hide it in size 1 font, then color white. This defeats the keyword scanners that most companies use and puts you into review stage 2 if it could be called that.

[NEW] Currents - The Death We Seek
Main Post: [NEW] Currents - The Death We Seek
Top Comment: Fucking Aussies and their timetravel. Edit: Now that it‘s out, sounds very The Way It Endsish with some ILTDI salted in there. Very chuggy, little to no overly technical stuff reminiscent TPIFS or earlier, but it still feels super Currents. Reminds me of A Flag To Wave and Monsters a lot in that it has the same structure and a very catchy chorus. Will definitely end up one of my favs of the year. Also just how good is Chris with those etheral synths like in this one, Let Me Leave and Kill The Ache?! Vocals could be a bit louder but maybe that‘s just my headphones slowly dying once again.
